The PowerDrive V2 trolling motor from Minn Kota marks an evolutionary leap forward for the company. The original PowerDrive was one of the company's most popular trolling motors ever, but the PowerDrive 2 takes things to the next level with such features as an improved deploy mechanism, a new ergonomically designed foot pedal, and digital electronics. This PowerDrive V2 pontoon boat trolling motor offers 54 pounds of thrust and a 48-inch shaft.

The PowerDrive V2 is equipped with a deploy-assist lever that keeps the motor securely stowed during rough water runs and while trailering, but that also unlocks quickly when you need to deploy the motor. As a result, you can drop in and pursue fish at a moment's notice. The side-to-side steering foot pedal, meanwhile, includes a momentary/constant on switch, a speed control knob for precise adjustments, and an 18-inch cord with waterproof connector plugs.
The PowerDrive V2 comes standard with Minn Kota's Digital Maximizer technology, which helps the battery run up to five times longer on a single charge, along with an indestructible composite shaft (guaranteed for life) and a push-to-test battery meter.
The motor offers extra-large windings and commutators that dissipate heat, resulting in cooler operation, extended battery power, and a longer motor life. Minn Kota even added a unique bearing system with reduced friction to cut fish-spooking noise.
It's compatible with Minn Kota's optional AutoPilot accessory, which locks onto any heading you choose and delivers you there. Just point the motor head in the direction you want to travel and let the AutoPilot take over. You can also upgrade the PowerDrive V2 with the optional i-Pilot wireless trolling system accessory, which uses GPS technology to control and steer your boat for you. At the push of a button, i-Pilot lets you stay on a fishing spot, store and retrace productive trolling paths, or take full command of speed and steering.

Minn Kota is the oldest manufacturer of electric fishing motors in the world with nearly 70 years of hard-earned experience in the lab and on the water. Throughout their history, Minn Kota has led the way in product innovation and cutting-edge technology. The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life in 1934 in Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. O. G. Schmidt, inventor of the trolling motor, was known to be a man of many diverse ideas. Prior to the trolling motor, Mr. Schmidt invented, produced and sold a copper soldering torch from his home in Wheatland, North Dakota.
